【摘要】:Dimensionalmeasurementsspecifiedinthispracticearemadeforoneofthefollowingpurposes:(1)todetermineconformancewithspecificationrequirementsregardinggeometricalpropertiesofwholeunits,suchasthesizeofrubbergloves,orthediameterandcircumferenceofrubberhose,(2)todetermineconformancewithspecificationrequirementsregardingparticularfunctionalpartsofunits,suchasthethicknessofthesolesofboots,or(3)todeterminegeometricalvaluesthatarenecessaryinthecalculationoftestresultsforphysicalpropertiesforwhichrequirementsarespecified,suchasthethicknessofatestspecimenfortensilestrength.Themethodtobeusedshallbeasspecifiedinthedetailspecificationorappropriatetestmethod.Pressureappliedbymeasuringinstrumentshasasignificanteffectontheobservedthicknessofsoftflexiblematerials,anditisthereforenecessarytospecifythepressureimposedbythefootoftheinstrumentonthetestpieceforaccuratecomparativemeasurementsofsuchmaterials.1.1Thispracticeisintendedforuseindeterminingthegeometricaldimensionsofrubberproductsandspecimensforphysicaltests.Thispracticedescribesproceduresfordetermininglength,width,thickness,diameter,andcircumference.Thispracticedoesnotcoversamplingofmaterialsorproducts,orlocationswhereasampleistobetaken.1.2Thevaluesstatedineitheracceptablemetricunitsorinotherunitsshallberegardedseparatelyasastandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemmustbeusedindependentlyoftheother,withoutcombiningvaluesinanyotherway.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityorregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
