【摘要】:Tireshavingreducedgroovedeptharerequiredinsometireteststodeterminechangesinperformanceasatirewearsinservice.Thisguidedescribesthepreparationofartificiallyworntires.Thisguideisnotmeanttoreplacethedevelopmentofworntiresthroughover-the-roadtravelwhennaturallyworntiresarerequired.Furtherrefinementsofthesetechniquesmaybemadewithincreasedfieldexperience.Theamountoftreadrubbertoberemoved(groovedepthreduction)andthefinalsurfacetextureareselectedaccordingtotherequirementsofaparticulartestingprogram.Thetypeoftestprogramdeterminestheactualtolerancenecessaryonthefinalgroovedepth.Forexample,snowtractionwillrequireveryclosecontrolofthefinalgroovedepthwhilevehiclehandlingtestscanaccommodateawidertoleranceonthefinalgroovedepth.1.1Thisguideoutlinesthepreparationofartificiallyworntiresbytreadrubberremoval(cuttingorgrinding,orboth)forsubsequentperformancetesting.Thepurposeistopermitthepreparationoftesttireswithauniformlyreducedtreadgroovedepthandtreadgeometrythatwillyieldrepeatabletestresultswhileavoidingthetime-consumingandcostlyover-the-roadnaturalwearingoftires.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
