【摘要】:Theoldsayingx201C;Achainisonlyasstrongasitsweakestlinkx201D;isveryapplicabletoaSSGsystem.Inreality,aSSGsystem,tobesuccessful,mustestablishandmaintainachainofadhesion.Forexample,afactoryappliedfinishmustadhereadequatelytoametalframingmember,astructuralglazingsealanttothatmetalfinish,thatstructuralglazingsealanttoareflectivecoatingonaglasslite,andlastly,thatreflectivecoatingtoaglasssurface.Thisguidewillassistintheidentificationanddevelopmentof,amongothers,performancecriteria,testmethods,andindustrypracticesthatshouldbeimplementedtoobtaintherequiredstructuralglazingsealantadhesionandcompatibilitywithothersystemcomponents.Althoughthisguidehasbeenarrangedtopermiteasyaccesstospecificareasofinterest,itishighlyrecommendedthattheentireguideisreadandunderstoodbeforeestablishingtherequirementsforaparticularSSGsystem.ThisguideshouldnotbetheonlycriteriauponwhichthedesignandinstallationofaSSGsystemisbased.TheinformationhereinisprovidedtoassistinthedevelopmentofaspecificprogramwithagoalofachievingasuccessfulSSGsysteminstallation.Informationandguidelinesareprovidedfortheevaluation,design,installation,andmaintenanceofaSSGsystemandmanyofitsvariouscomponents.Consideringtherangeofpropertiesofstructuralglazingsiliconesealants,aswellasthemanytypesofframingsystemdesigns,materialcombinationsthatcanbeused,variousmaterialfinishes,andthemanytypesandvarietiesofaccessories,theinformationcontainedhereinisgeneralinnature.Generally,thedesign,fabrication,andinstallationofaSSGsystemrequiresmoretechnicalknowledgeandexperiencethenisrequiredforaconventionallyglazedwindoworcurtainwallsystem.ToensurethesuccessofaSSGsystem,itisimportantthatsuppliers,fabricators,andinstallersofmaterialsandcomponentshaveasoundknowledgeofSSGsystemrequirementsandbecomeinvolvedinthedesignandplanningforeachapplication.Suppliersof,amongothers,sealants,framingfinishes,glazingmaterialsandcomponents,andvariousaccessoriesshouldreviewandagreewiththedevelopedSSGsystemplans,requirements,andqualitycontrolprogram.5.5Theresultsofnotplanningforandimplementingqualitycontrolprogramsduringatleastthedesign,testing,fabrication,andinstallationphasesofaSSGsystem''sdevelopmentcanresultinlessthandesirableresults,whichcanincludenuisanceairorwaterleakageorcatastrophicfailurewherelifesafetyofthepubliccanbeatrisk(1,2).1.1Structuralsealantglazing,hereinafterreferredtoasSSG,isanapplicationwhereasealantnotonlycanfunctionasabarrieragainstthepassageofairandwaterthroughabuildingenvelope,butalsoprimarilyprovidesstructuralsupportandattachmentofglazingorothercomponentstoawindow,curtainwall,orotherframingsystem.1.2Thisguideprovidesinformationusefultodesignprofessionals,manufacturers,contractors,andothersforthedesignandinstallationofaSSGsystem.Thisinformationisapplicableonlytothisglazingmethodwhenusedforabuildingwallthatisnotmorethan15x00B0;fromvertical;however,limitedinformationisincludedconcerningaslopedSSGapplication.1.3Onlyasiliconechemicallycuringsealantspecificallyformulated,tested,andmarketedforstructuralsealantglazingisacceptableforaSSGsystemapplication.1.4Thecommitteewithjurisdictionforthisstandardisnotawareofanycomparablestandardpublishedbyotherorganizations.1.5Thecalculationsand......
